Choice Hotels International Inc. will move its co-brand credit-card portfolio to Wells Fargo & Co. as the hotel chain seeks to improve its market share with younger, higher-end customers.

The company’s refreshed card will be available beginning May 1, according to a statement Tuesday. Rockville, Maryland-based Choice, which has long partnered with Barclays Plc for its co-brand cards, will begin notifying customers who carry its existing card of the change by mail.
