SNB Has No Time for Token Female Roles, Maechler Says

Swiss National Bank policymaker Andrea Maechler said the central bank has no time to indulge in token or symbolic appointments of women for the sake of meeting any kind of gender expectations.

“Do I feel like a token Romande or a token woman?” she asked, using the local phrase for a French-speaking Swiss. “No, in Switzerland, we don’t have time for that.”
