Guinness Is Raising Pint Prices in Ireland
Irish PM Leo Varadkar said it could cause “financial hardship for many” pubs in light of the rising cost of living.
Guinness will raise prices of the nation’s favorite brew next month by 12 euro cents per pint, a new blow to struggling publicans and prompting calls for the company to reconsider its decision.
London-based parent company Diageo Plc, which reported profit of £3.34 billion ($4.1 billion) in its latest fiscal year, said it could no longer afford to absorb rising costs, which are increasing for brewers worldwide.
