President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will leave Ukraine for the first time since Russia’s invasion to meet US President Joe Biden at the White House and address Congress in person, making a direct appeal for support from his country’s most important ally.
In his visit to Washington on Wednesday, Zelenskiy will ask Biden and US lawmakers for shipments of additional arms to Ukraine, including more sophisticated weapons, as some Republicans grow skeptical of continued American support.
