Poland reached a preliminary agreement with the European Union on legislation that could pave the way for the release of more than €34 billion ($36 billion) in post-pandemic funding, according to officials familiar with the talks.

While the European Commission made an initial positive assessment of Poland’s draft legislation, any resolution will depend on parliamentary approval of the agreed text, according to an EU official who declined to be named because the talks aren’t public.
