The European Central Bank should raise interest rates by 50 basis points this month to help tame surging consumer prices, said Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau, who added that inflation will peak during the first half of 2023. 

“I think it’s desirable to bring rates to 2%, so a rise of 0.5 or 50 basis points,” the governor of the Bank of France said Sunday in an interview on LCI television.
