Michael Gove, the UK’s secretary of state for leveling up, housing and communities, has accused British building companies of producing unattractive, poor quality homes, while pledging government initiatives to improve the state of the country’s new housing stock.

Gove, who previously clashed with builders in the UK’s cladding scandal, was reappointed to his position last month after Rishi Sunak took over as prime minister. Gove had been ousted from the job in July by then-Premier Boris Johnson.
