Spain will press ahead with its plan to raise taxes on banks that are posting record profits, Economy Minister Nadia Calvino said on Friday, adding that the government had already assessed concerns raised by the European Central Bank about the levy.

“We are going on with the tax, it’s being negotiated currently in parliament, and the report and the assessment of the ECB is not totally unexpected,” Calvino told CNBC television in an interview.
