Last week, shares of Amazon got clobbered after the company reported a mediocre sales outlook for its retail business, and a miss in its cloud services operation.

Of course, Amazon is just one of a handful of tech companies — both large and small — to have hit a brick wall of sorts in 2022. Growth is disappointing. And due to the shift in the macro regime, investors are punishing companies that used to enjoy sky-high, growth-forever multiples.
