German companies have exhausted nearly all their options to curb natural gas consumption to help prevent shortages this winter.
Europe is facing its worst energy crisis in decades and everyone from factories to households have to do whatever they can to reduce demand. Although storage sites are almost full and mild weather is poised to last well into the next month, consumption has to drop by about 20% for Germany to make it through the heating season unscathed, regulator BNetzA has said.
