PG&E Corp. is warning people in eight California counties that the company may need to cut electricity this weekend to prevent wildfires during windy weather.

A looming storm may bring light rain to some regions Saturday, followed by dry air and gusty winds. Customers in Colusa, Glenn, Shasta and Tehama counties are at risk of losing power Saturday, according to PG&E’s website. The potential for outages may spread to Fresno, Monterey, San Benito and Stanislaus counties on Sunday, with the threat lingering into Monday.
