ECB’s Centeno Sees Rates as Preferred Instrument for Now

The European Central Bank will focus on borrowing costs for the time being in its battle with record inflation, according to Governing Council member Mario Centeno.
“Our preferred instrument at this stage is the interest-rate adjustment,” Centeno told Bloomberg TV on Friday in Washington. “The hiking process for interest rates is not yet over.”
