Ghana’s annual inflation rate was 37.2% in September, the nation’s statistics agency said, as it announced changes to the way it calculates the data.

The agency has shifted the reference year to 2021, from 2018, and will update historical figures, Government Statistician Samuel Kobina Annim told reporters Wednesday in the capital, Accra. It’s also adjusted the weights of regions and increased the number covered to 16 from 10 by splitting bigger ones, he said.
