As Hurricane Ian barrels toward Florida’s Gulf coast, officials are urging those in the storm’s path to brace for deadly wind, flooding and storm surges from what may become one of the costliest storms to hit the US.
“It’s no longer possible to safely evacuate,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Wednesday in a briefing. “It’s time to hunker down and prepare for the storm.”
