The daughter of billionaire Terry Pegula, who owns the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, is the last hope for an American woman to win a US Open tennis title.
Jessica Pegula, 28, is poised to play in the quarterfinals Wednesday against top-seeded Iga Swiatek, a 21-year-old from Poland. After the high-profile exit of Serena Williams last week, and a loss by Coco Gauff, the eighth-seeded Pegula is the only American remaining in the singles tournament.
