Solar-Car Maker Lightyear Raises $81 Million as Production Nears

Startup Lightyear secured 81 million euros ($80 million) from a Dutch-led group of investors as it starts deliveries of the world’s first production-ready solar car this year and looks to expand outside of Europe.
The main investors include Invest-NL and regional development agencies for the provinces of North Brabant and Limburg, with additional investments from new private funds, the company said Tuesday in an emailed statement.
