Angolan authorities have made significant headway in fighting graft, with more than $20 billion worth of illicitly acquired assets seized domestically and abroad, according to the minister in charge of reviving the economy.

More than 3,000 corruption, money laundering and other commercialcrime inquiries and cases have been opened since President Joao Lourenco’s administration took office in 2017, up from just 12 cases instituted by the previous administration, Economic Coordination Minister Manuel Nunes Junior said.
