Italy can get through next winter with only minor cuts to its gas consumption even if Russia completely halts flows, Ecological Transition Minister Roberto Cingolani said.
“Adding savings to new supplies, in the second half of 2024 we’ll be independent from Russia,” Cingolani said in a press conference in Rome on Wednesday. “We don’t foresee drastic consumption cuts for factories.”
