Shares of Siga Technologies Inc. and other companies making vaccines and antiviral products tied to monkeypox were in focus on Monday, after the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.

Siga’s shares jumped 29% to close at its highest level on record, while Chimerix Inc. and Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. also rose.
