A state lawmaker who denies the results of the 2020 election won the Republican primary for governor of Maryland, a contest that became a proxy clash between former President Donald Trump and outgoing Governor Larry Hogan, a potential 2024 GOP presidential candidate.

The Associated Press called the GOP primary race for Dan Cox, a lawyer and state delegate, late Tuesday night over Kelly Schulz and two other candidates.
