The suspect in the deadly mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade outside of Chicago was charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, with “dozens” more charges expected, according to the local state’s attorney.

Robert “Bobby” Crimo III, the 21-year-old suspect, would face a life sentence on the initial charges alone if convicted, Lake County state’s attorney Eric Rinehart said at a briefing Tuesday. He is asking for Crimo to be held without bail after the Highland Park, Illinois, shooting, which left at least seven dead and more than 30 injured.
