New Abortion Benefits Remain Out of Reach for Most US Workers, Surveys Show

HR executives say most coverage will come from existing health funds or won’t change to reflect Supreme Court ruling, according to management consulting firm Gartner.

High-profile promises from big companies aside, most US workers are not getting additional help from their employers for abortion-related travel costs, human resources executives said in a survey conducted this week.

A majority of HR executives say they either don’t plan to change their current health-care offerings or are still evaluating options, according to a survey of 220 human resources executives this week released Thursday by management consulting firm Gartner. Only 24% said they currently offer the travel benefit.
