Rogers, Shaw to Sell Mobile Unit to Quebecor for $2.2 Billion

Rogers Communications Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc. said they’ve reached a deal to sell Shaw’s wireless division to rival Quebecor Inc., taking a major step in their effort to solve antitrust concerns about their merger.

Quebecor agreed to pay C$2.85 billion ($2.2 billion) for Shaw’s Freedom Mobile unit, the three companies said in a releaseBloomberg Terminal Friday night. The deal is subject to approval by Canada’s antitrust body and the federal government.
