ECB’s Muller Says Hesitation Risks Complicating Inflation Battle

Hesitation in tackling record euro-zone inflation would make it more difficult to keep prices in check, according to European Central Bank Governing Council member Madis Muller.

Commenting Friday in a blog post the day after the ECB pledged to raise interest rates for the first time since 2011, Muller said inflation is spreading from energy to other goods and services, with Russia’s war in Ukraine driving up food and raw-materials costs.
