Conservative-leaning UK newspapers laid bare the trouble Boris Johnson is in after he narrowly survived a confidence vote of his MPs.
The Daily Telegraph, Johnson’s former employer, is usually staunch backer of the Tories but declared it a “hollow victory” that has “crushed” his authority. Its front-page story on Tuesday described Johnson as “clinging to power” and the Conservative Party tearing itself apart.
