European Central Bank Governing Council member Joachim Nagel said there’s room for further rate increases in the second half of the year after an initial hike in July.
“At our June meeting we must give a clear signal as to where we’re headed,” the Bundesbank president told Der Spiegel magazine, according to a pre-release of the interview on Friday. “From my current point of view, we must then take a first interest-rate step in July and follow with further ones in the second half of the year.”
