Boeing Co. will shift its world headquarters to Arlington, Virginia, from Chicago, a long-anticipated move that would put one of the nation’s largest defense contractors near federal government decision-makers in Washington.
The planemaker said Thursday that it’s moving the corporate office to a campus near the nation’s capital that houses its defense and lobbying operations. Boeing also plans to establish a research and technology hub that delves into matters such as cyber-security, autonomy and quantum sciences -- all areas of interest for the Pentagon.
