Argentina is getting help from neighboring Bolivia in its bid to muddle through the upcoming southern hemisphere winter without rationing natural gas supplies.
Bolivia agreed to send extra fuel in the cold, high-demand months of May to September, according to Argentine government statements. The Andean nation is currently shipping roughly 7.5 million cubic meters a day to Argentina by pipeline, but talks to ramp up provisions in winter were at an impasse because Bolivia’s production has been declining and it’s been prioritizing sales to Brazil, a larger economy.
