Somewhere there’s a team of Apple Inc. employees building a very complicated spreadsheet that tries to answer the question: Can selling iPhone subscriptions make us more money?

The answer they have found seems to be “yes.” The Cupertino, Calif.-based company is working on such a program, Bloomberg News’s Mark Gurman reported on Thursday.
