Pixar’s Champion of Female Voices Wants More LGBTQ Characters

Jessica Heidt, who uncovered a gender gap in Disney’s Pixar Animation Studios films, said LGBTQ characters need to be developed more as the studio continues to seek more diverse stories.

“Now we’re able to have a much broader spectrum of representation,” Heidt said during Bloomberg’s Equality Summit. “With gender, race, sexual orientation — there’s a lot of evolution happening.’’ She added: “Sexual orientation might be a place where I'd like to see a little more work done.”
