London’s Mayor urged residents to avoid unnecessary car journeys as the city issued its first major warning over poor air quality since August 2020.

The alert covers Tuesday through Thursday and was triggered by an Imperial College London forecast that imported pollution will add to a build-up of domestic emissions, Mayor Sadiq Khan’s office said in a statement
