Bank of New York Mellon Corp., the world’s biggest custody bank, promoted Robin Vince to be its next chief executive officer as Todd Gibbons prepares to step down later this year.

Vince, a veteran of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. who’s been at BNY Mellon since 2020, is set to take over on Aug. 31. Gibbons intends to retire as CEO and board member, ending a 36-year career with BNY Mellon, the firm said Thursday in a statementBloomberg Terminal.
