Florida’s Senate on Tuesday passed a bill that limits instruction about gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade.

Dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by critics, it’s received national attention and won final approval 22-17, with two Republicans joining Democrats in opposition. The measure comes just days after the Senate voted to restrict abortion and will now be sent to the desk of Governor Ron DeSantis for his signature.
