Philippines’ Full Economic Recovery Hinges on Reopening Schools

The Philippines’ economic recovery will gain traction should it reopen more schools that have been shut for nearly two years due to the pandemic, Economic Planning Secretary Karl Chua said on Tuesday.
“We have to return to face-to-face learning,” Chua said in a televised briefing. “If we want a full recovery, having the lowest alert level is not enough,” he said, referring to the degree of restrictions on movement.
