Florida’s Republican-controlled House of Representatives approved a bill that would make it significantly harder to obtain an abortion, the latest in a series of such measures across the country.

The measure passed the House early Thursday in a 78-39 vote, sending the proposal to the GOP-controlled Senate, where it is expected to pass.
