Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee blocked votes on President Joe Biden’s five picks for the Federal Reserve in a dispute over Sarah Bloom Raskin’s nomination for vice chair for supervision at the central bank.

The top Republican on the committee, Senator Patrick Toomey, said earlier that Raskin hadn’t “adequately addressed” questions put to her with regard to her role as a board member of a fintech company. He and other GOP senators have also blasted Raskin’s past comments calling for the Fed to do more to address climate change.
