Women hit a record share of seats in S&P 500 boardrooms in 2021, with some of the strongest growth coming in the energy and industrial sectors, where women trail men in power and influence.
Overall, that meant women occupied 113 more seats at the end of last year, up 7% from the end of 2020, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The number of women on boards rose 12% among industrial companies and 11% at energy companies, the data showed.
