Natural gas prices in Europe fluctuated as traders weigh the impact of increasing shipments from Russia and rising tension between the top supplier and the west over Ukraine.
Orders to send gas through Ukraine via Velke Kapusany, a major entry point in Slovakia, rose to the highest level since Jan. 1, according to data from operator Eustream. However, shipments still remain below normal, while concerns over escalating geopolitical tensions surrounding Ukraine put traders on the edge.
