New York City Mayor Eric Adams would retain mayoral control of the city’s schools for another four years, in a budget proposal unveiled Tuesday by Governor Kathy Hochul.
If approved by the state Legislature, the oversight of city schools would provide a boon for Adams for the entirety of his term in office and signify the burgeoning partnership between Hochul and Adams in their early days in office.
