European Union negotiations regarding an unprecedented climate-policy overhaul are set to gather pace next year as France takes over the rotating presidency of the bloc, according to a senior EU official.
“We’ll have to change gear,” said Mauro Petriccione, director general for climate at the European Commission, at an online event. “We know for a fact the French presidency is extremely committed. They do have a rather good track record on getting things done on climate change.”
