‘Flash Boys’ Exchange IEX to Start Charging for Its Market Data

IEX Group Inc., owner of the exchange that promotes itself as a champion for market fairness and integrity, will start charging customers for access to its data beginning next year.
The company filed a request with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday to approve a fee structure for its data, which is currently provided for free. The change will take effect Jan. 3, the company said on its website.
