Edith Cooper says her appointment last month to the boards of Pepsico Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. show the progress made by women and people of color, and also how far they still have to go to reach parity in power.
Cooper left the board of Etsy Inc. as she joined the board of the the beverage company and online retailer -- accounting for three different board changes that helped women gain a net 13 seats in September in S&P 500 boardrooms.
