Fed Chair Hasn’t Taken Climate Risks Seriously, Stiglitz Says

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hasn’t done enough to address risk to the financial system stemming from climate change, according to Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz.
“Climate risk is a financial risk,” the Columbia University Professor told Bloomberg Television’s Jonathan Ferro and Tom Keene on Wednesday. “The chairman of the Federal Reserve has not taken on board the real risks associated with climate change to our financial system, to our banking system.”
