Billionaires Elon Musk and John Elkann share optimism about the future of everything from space exploration and energy to artificial intelligence and agree Ferrari NV should steer clear of autonomous-driving technology.

The two spoke for more than 45 minutes on Friday during Italian Tech Week, an event the chairman of Ferrari and Stellantis NV attended in person and the chief executive officer of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX joined over video feed from Texas.
