U.S. Embassy Advises Americans to Leave Kabul Airport Area

  • Biden says conditions in Afghanistan ‘extremely dangerous’
  • Bombing outside airport Thursday killed 13 military personnel

Americans were also told to leave the vicinity of Kabul airport immediately following a “specific, credible threat,” the U.S. embassy in Afghanistan said in a statement that advised citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and avoid all gates.

U.S. President Joe Biden earlier warned that conditions in Kabul during the final days of the U.S. evacuation remain “extremely dangerous” and said his military commanders informed him during a briefing Saturday morning that an another attack is “highly likely in the next 24-36 hours.”
