Mobileye NV has begun testing self-driving cars in New York City, a congested urban grid known for jaywalkers, weaving bicyclists and aggressive drivers.

“This is one of the reasons why we chose New York City as one of our next expansions for testing sites, because of the challenges that the city provides,” Chief Executive Officer Amnon Shashua said at a newsBloomberg Terminal conference in New York on Tuesday.
