Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the U.K. must end “burdensome” red tape built up during almost five decades as a member of the European Union if the country is to reach its full potential outside the bloc.

The government will consult across industry and civil society about changes to Britain’s regulatory framework, Johnson said in response to a report he commissioned to look at areas where the U.K. can now benefit from setting its own rules. A designated Brexit opportunities unit will also be set up, he said.
