House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday denounced Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments comparing Covid-19 precautions to the Holocaust as “appalling,” and at least one Democrat is preparing a censure resolution to condemn the Georgia Republican.
Greene has compared requirements for masks and vaccines to the oppression and killing of Jews by the Nazis, the latest in a series of inflammatory statements she’s made since being elected in 2020. On Tuesday morning she compared a grocery store putting a vaccination logo on their name badges to Jews being forced to wear yellow Star of David patches under the Nazis.
