Federal regulators with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday they have launched a new probe into the fatal crash involving a Tesla Inc. vehicle in Fontana, California, earlier this month.
“We have launched a Special Crash Investigation,” a NHTSA spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday. “NHTSA remains vigilant in overseeing the safety of all motor vehicles and equipment, including automated technologies, and leverages SCI where appropriate.”
