India Lowers Covid Vaccine Age to 18 as Infections Surge

India will allow citizens over the age of 18 years to receive Covid-19 vaccinations from next month as Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks to control the rapid spread of the virus.
Under the third phase of its vaccination strategy, effective from May 1, the government will make pricing, procurement, eligibility and administration of vaccines open and flexible. This will allow customization to suit local needs, it said in a statement via the Press Information Bureau.
